Dr. Sanjiv Haribhakti is a renowned surgical gastroenterologist with over 28 years of experience and a record of performing more than 4,000 gastrointestinal surgeries. He holds the distinction of being the first M.Ch. GI Surgeon in Western India and has successfully handled hundreds of complex GI procedures. He is the Founder and Chairman of Kaizen Hospital in Ahmedabad — the first NABH-accredited Gastroenterology Super Specialty Hospital in Western India. Dr. Haribhakti has received advanced training from some of the world’s most prestigious medical institutions, including AIIMS Delhi, Mount Sinai Hospitals (South Korea and USA), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and the Cleveland Clinic in the USA.
A dedicated advocate for medical advancement, he has organized 12 national conferences, published 43 scientific papers, and authored 4 books. He has also designed and innovated a table mounted abdominal retractor “Haribhakti’s Self Retaining Retractor” for abdominal surgery, and “Hammock Retractor” – a scar less retractor for laparoscopic surgery. Currently, he has innovated several ports and instruments for NOTES, specially Transoral Surgery of theUpper GI Tract.
He has organized 12 National Conferences such as IASGCON 2014, ACRSICON 2007, MAS 2003, LAPGICON 2004,GIUPADATE 2005 among others. He has also presented his work at International Meetings such as DDW 2003, SAGES 2008, DDW 2010, World Congress of Digestive Surgery 2015 in China, SAGES 2017 in Texas; EAES 2017 in Germany, World Congress of Digestive Surgery 2017 in Japan; EAES 2018 in London.

Dr. Prakash Kurumboor is one of the senior-most Surgical Gastroenterologists in Kerala, with over 27 years of experience and more than 9,000 surgeries to his credit. He is a distinguished member of the first MCh (Surgical Gastroenterology) batch in the state. Renowned for his expertise in complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries and advanced laparoscopic procedures, Dr. Prakash is a trusted and highly reputed laparoscopic GI surgeon in the region. A pioneer in the field, he was the first surgeon in Kerala to perform both single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy and single-incision laparoscopic colorectal resection. He has also undergone specialized training in liver transplantation, further strengthening his expertise in hepatobiliary and transplant surgery.
Dr. Prakash holds a special interest in laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeries and has performed the highest number of colorectal resections and other advanced GI laparoscopic surgeries in the state, setting benchmarks in surgical excellence and patient care.
